For business leaders, communication is really important. It can also be hideously difficult to Made to Stick: Why Some Ideas Take Hold and Others Come Unstuckget right. It was for this reason that the Heath brothers’ book, Made to Stick, piqued my interest.

Their main interest is looking into how it is that rubbish ideas tend to be stickier than good ones. The book is built around six principles for making ideas sticky:

S implicity: That is, focus on the core.

U nexpectedness: What is it that sets this message apart?

C oncreteness: Names, names, names, is how one editor explained his paper’s success

C redibility: Why should they trust you and your message?

E motions: What emotions do you need to evoke?

S tories What is your story and storyline?

Perhaps you can suggest principles that have worked well and helped you with your communication. Or you may have examples to illustrate the success principles. Good luck!
